We’re back at Walt Disney World for the 2018 International Food and Wine Festival! Our adventure starts at the Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs.
We checked in at 5 PM. With 9:30 dinner reservations after a six-hour flight, we went light. Salads for an early supper with desserts to go…
How about a vanilla cupcake, filled with edible cookie dough, topped by a cookie?
And cheesecake with fresh fruit. Matso: “Only one quarter portion??”
Shortly – off to Epcot…
One last thing before dinner – a taste of refreshing Moosehead Lager from Canada, infused with grapefruit and citrus flavors.
And then to one of Mexico’s signature restaurants, La Hacienda de San Angel, for chips and salsa followed by “Del Mar”: Grilled mahi-mahi, shrimp, and scallops, with rice, beans, tortillas, vegetables, and esquites (corn salad).
The seafood was perfectly cooked, and this amount of food would’ve fed four people. The corn salad had a little peppery bite at the finish!
Finally, the best reason to get “lagoon seating” in the evening – you can watch the Illuminations fireworks show from your table…
